All trips include all necessary climbing gear: shoes, harness, helmet, carabiners, belay devices, ropes, etc.
MCG is dedicated to providing an exceptional customer experience. As such, we keep our group size limited to 6 people per MCG guide.
Alpine and multi-pitch climbs are limited to 2 people maximum and may require a 1 to 1 guide to client ratio, depending on the climb.
The minimum age for climbing is 6 years old.
We reserve the right to keep any client from climbing if we determine that safety is an issue.
All trips must be paid in full, no later than 48 hours in advance. A non-refundable deposit of $100 can be made if scheduling before 48 hours to reserve preferred dates or courses.
Up to 30 days before a scheduled trip we will refund 100% of the fee. Within 30 days of a scheduled trip, with at least 48 hours notice, MCG will retain a 50% deposit fee.
Cancellations made within 48 hours are non-refundable. MCG is unable to refund or reschedule your trip due to personal injury, illness, or issues with your group.
If weather becomes a safety issue before your climb we will reschedule and or offer 100% credit for a later date to be determined. No refunds will be given.
We will do our best to determine if the weather is appropriate for a climb. All trips are subject to rain, hail, snow, wind and other variables that are beyond our control. We may change the intended climb for a safer objective. If we are turned around during a climb due to weather no refunds will be given.

No experience is necessary to join us for a day of climbing. We specialize in teaching first-time climbers. Our guides will teach you the basics of climbing in a low pressure, easy to learn manner that’s perfect for kids (6+ yrs) and families.
We play with all kids 6 years to 106.
We take safety seriously and it is our first priority out on the rocks. All of our guides are required to be trained or certified by the American Mountain Guides Association and hold a current Wilderness First Responder certification or higher. We reserve the right to end a day of climbing if we determine it is unsafe.
Required items to bring on your day of climbing:
- Water – bring at least two liters per person
- Food – bring a healthy lunch and/or snacks
- Hat/Sunscreen/Sunglasses/Chapstick – we play at an altitude where the sun/UV is very intense. Be prepared to cover up
- Pants/Jacket – We recommend loose fitting pants and a light jacket incase the weather turns cooler
- Closed toe shoes – You must bring appropriate footwear. Hiking boots or sturdy approach shoes are required
Mammoth Climbing Guides is always looking to add to our family of guides. We offer competitive rates, yearly gear allowances, pro-deals from our partners, in-house training and financial support towards guide certifications.
